Most significant issue in health insurance is the low level of consumer awareness. Even today there is lack of awareness about the health insurance products and benefits. The need for insurance product development is discussed much, but little attempt made to do so. Insufficient data on health insurance consumers, disease patterns and limited control of healthcare delivery network resulting in limited product and pricing innovation.
